How To Find Out If You really are losing your hair

Thursday, May 20th, 2010 at 2:09 pm

Hair loss most often occurs in a very predictable pattern. This pattern of hair loss and hair thinning occurs when the normal cycle of your hair growth changes. Pattern hair loss typically starts off very slowly and over time i becomes more noticeable and the actual rate of hair loss may increase.

“Pattern Hair Loss Is The Generic Hard Coded Cause Of Hair Loss”

Men suffer from pattern hair loss more often than women. Unfortunately it is also very common in women. When men start to bald they usually lose the hair at the temples or the crown first. Often times they start to thin at temples and crown together.  Women suffering from pattern baldness usually notice hair loss over the complete top of the head. The amount of hair we lose increases also with age if we are genetically disposed to suffer from pattern baldness.

Over the years there has been hundreds of reasons cited for hair loss. Most of these reasons are completely untrue and were fabricated just to sell products to hair loss sufferers clinging on to false hope. Here is a sample list of some of the ridiculous associated with hair loss.

Excessive blood circulation in scalpNot enough blood circulation in the scalpDandruffWearing HatsHair GelLack of sunshinePillow case materialWashing hair with water that’s too warm

The list goes on and on. These false causes were simply created to make money.  There certainly are other reasons other than pattern baldness that cause the hair to thin. E.g extreme stress, certain diseases, nutrition deficiencies, allergies, medications and radiation exposure. These however are temporary and the effects stop after the problems has been addresses.

So the main long term cause of hair loss is genetics. Unfortunately you simply inherited this trait. And before you go blaming your mother know that it can come from either side of the family.

How do I know If I’ve got pattern hair loss or some other factor is causing my hair to thin?

The first thing you need to do if you believe you are losing your hair is to consult with a dermatologist. A dermatologist specializes in hair, skin and nails. He/She will be able to pin point cause of your hair loss if it’s other that genetics. The fact is the the main and most likely cause if pattern baldness. If left untreated it WILL get progressively worse and you WILL lose all the hair you are programmed to lose.

Know that Pattern Baldness CAN be stopped but CANNOT be reversed. That is why it’s imperative that act and study your options right away. The first course of action with medical advice is going on propecia. Propecia is a proven and FDA approved hair loss cure. You should also find the best ways to alter your diet to consume foods that have most natural DHT inhibiting properties. (DHT is the hormone that eventually kills your hair follicles. There are also excellent supplements available such as Provillus that stop DHT in its track and actually help nourish your hair to make it look healthier and shinier. Be sure to check out my Provillus bonus offer if you are taking action now to stop hair loss now.
